Kaushik Samant, deputy general manager - marketing at Everest Holovisions, shared the company’s history of firsts — including being the inaugural domestic manufacturer of holographic films and the supplier for India’s first holographic election ID cards under the tenure of TN Seshan.

Samant shared that the company is now focusing on the evolving needs of brand protection and anti-counterfeiting.

Advancing brand protection with LithoFire

Originally launched earlier this year at Pamex, LithoFire is being presented to the Southern market for the first time. LithoFire represents a leap in security integration, combining both overt features visible to the naked eye and covert features that require specialised tools, such as laser or UV light, for verification.

According to Samant, the technology allows for an unprecedented level of complexity. The company can now integrate more than 65 distinct security features into a single hologram, raising the barrier against fraudulent replication.

The science of light without ink

During the expo, Samant highlighted the unique nature of holographic production, noting that the vibrant colour shifts associated with their films and labels are achieved entirely through the physics of light rather than chemical pigments.

The process relies on the incidence, reflection, and refraction of light. Because there is no ink or dye involved, the security features are structurally inbuilt into the material. This makes the holographic solutions ideal for high-stakes brand protection across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, FMCG, and government documentation.

Expansion in South India

Samant shared that the decision to showcase at the Bharat Print Expo in Chennai follows a move to capture the growing demand in the five key southern states: Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala.

By leveraging its position as the first company in India to utilise wide-web machinery for holographic film manufacturing, Everest Holovisions aims to scale its production of holographic strips, labels, and films to meet the regional demand for integrated packaging solutions.
