Bhopal-based Core Signs has recently invested in a JWEI digital cutting device. The machine was supplied and installed by TechNova Imaging Systems.

Karan Arora of Core Signs said that the reasons behind the investment were the need for faster turnaround, reduction in manual errors, the ability to handle multiple materials on a single platform and better finish and consistency.

He added, “TechNova played a key role in helping us understand the machine capabilities. They gave practical demonstrations, explained the configurations, and guided us in selecting the right setup based on our applications in signage and packaging.”

Core Signs LLP has over 20 years of experience in the printing and signage industry. It started with traditional signage and large-format printing and have gradually expanded into digital signage, retail branding, and packaging solutions. Over the years, it has worked with leading brands across India and has built strong capabilities in both manufacturing and execution.

It operates in two main areas — retail signage and branding solutions and packaging and corrugated-based display solutions. The work includes channel letters, lightboxes, fabric displays, LED signage, and POS/POP solutions using corrugated and other boards.

Karan Arora, the founder, handles business development, client relationships, and overall operations.

He said the demand for digital post-press devices has increased significantly. “Clients now expect faster turnaround, better finishing, and more customisation. Manual processes are no longer sufficient. Digital post press devices help in handling short runs, prototypes, and complex jobs with accuracy and speed.”

According to Arora, major challenges in the post-press business in present time includes lack of skilled manpower, inconsistent finishing in manual processes and time delays in urgent jobs. His solution is to shift towards automation, invest in reliable digital cutting systems and training teams to adapt to new technologies.

With the new investment, Arora said, the company approached it with a clear mindset that automation is necessary for growth. “We planned the installation properly, trained our team in advance, and worked closely with TechNova during setup. Instead of resisting change, we focused on learning and adapting quickly,” he said.

There were technical challenges such as initial calibration and understanding different materials and setting correct parameters for different jobs. There was also team hesitation towards new technology. Core Signs tackled this by offering hands-on training, running trial jobs and showing the team the speed and quality benefits.

The company has a strong setup, including advanced HP Latex printing machines for both rigid and flexible media. The addition of the JWEI digital cutter completes our workflow from printing to finishing.

After the installation, the company has witnessed faster production cycles, more consistent cutting quality, ability to handle complex jobs easily, better delivery timelines and improved customer satisfaction. “We can now take up jobs that were earlier difficult or time-consuming,” Arora said.

He expect strong growth in both signage and packaging segments. “The machine will help us increase production capacity, reduce dependency on manual labour, and improve margins through efficiency. ROI is expected through higher throughput and new business opportunities. TechNova’s support in service, training, and guidance will play an important role in ensuring smooth operations and long-term performance,” he concluded.
