BMPA-MMS: Two hearts now beat as one

Announced at the Annual General Meeting of Bombay Master Printers’ Association (BMPA) on 30 September 2015, the long-term alliance of BMPA with its counterpart Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS) was formalised at the tenth Print Summit on 29 January 2016 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

The Print Summit 2016 saw a packed house with 910 delegates in attendance.

The respective managing committees of BMPA and MMS unanimously expressed their willingness to establish constructive collaboration between the two associations for the betterment of the print fraternity.

The two presidents, Faheem Agboatwala of BMPA and Tushar Dhote of MMS jointly addressed the gathering of over 900. “The aim is to strengthen industry representation at various national and international forums. The joint operations will enable dispute settlement by forming a common grievance cell. Also, the two bodies will jointly work on continuous training and education programmes.”

In order to achieve this and more, BMPA and MMS have nominated members and formed a joint committee, which will work on the joint activities of the two.

Agboatwala said, "For years we have had requests of getting these two print heavy weights to cooperate. In the future, Mumbai needs only one printer association and we want to make a path heading towards that.”
 
Dhote said, "The MMS and BMPA team have put in several hours of brain-storming sessions in pinning our thoughts together in how we both can collaborate in future. Finally, we have laid down a foundation for working towards achieving a common goal for the printers of Mumbai city."
 
During the Print Summit, the two associations launched the first issue of their joint magazine, Mumbai Impressions.  The duo will jointly commence several projects for the fraternity starting with the joint Drupa Tour, work on which has already begun, informed Dhote.
