Kharghar-based Madwits, founded by Mahesh Choudary in 2013, has strengthened its in-house book production with the installation of Bindwel SigLoch Zen and XE-Cut systems, improving turnaround times and binding quality for short-run jobs. Madwits operates from three units in Navi Mumbai with a combined footprint of around 450-sqft and employs a team of 40.

The company specialises in educational publishing, commercial print, and book production, serving institutional and local customers. The press runs a Konica Minolta KM4080 digital press supported by a post-press line that includes a Polar cutting machine, Bindwel XE-Cut, UC300, and SigLoch Zen.

Binding is fully managed in-house. According to the company, the shift to Bindwel followed challenges with an earlier Chinese perfect binding system, which did not meet quality expectations. The move to the SigLoch Zen was aimed at improving output consistency and meeting customer demand for book binding alongside digital printing. Madwits currently handles around 105 titles and serves four to five key customers, producing approximately 30,000 books over a two- to three-month cycle.

The company primarily works with 100gsm alabaster paper for text and 300gsm stock for covers. The installation of the SigLoch Zen and XE-Cut has enabled higher production speeds, improved consistency, and reduced wastage. The company said the machines have also reduced labour dependency, with a single operator able to manage binding operations efficiently. Choudary said the XE-Cut supports precise and faster cutting, while the SigLoch Zen enables consistent book production with minimal intervention.

The improved workflow has helped the company meet delivery timelines more reliably. Among its recent projects, Madwits completed end-to-end printing and binding of educational books for a leading school in Navi Mumbai, delivering the job within a tight deadline. Educational publishing continues to be a core segment for the company.

Madwits cited Bindwel’s service support as a key factor, highlighting pre-installation site inspection, on-time delivery, and training support. Mahesh Choudary said, "We have done complete book printing, binding project for one of the leading school in Navi Mumbai. Before delivery of machine, site inspection done. Machine was delivered on time and after delivery installation and training done. We definitely recommend the Bindwel product to others, as we are having very good experience in terms of technical support and after sales service."
