Monotech Systems presented a combination of digital printing and embellishment solutions at Bharat Print Expo 2026 in Chennai, highlighting opportunities for printers to move beyond commodity print and improve margins.

Speaking at the show, Mohankrishnan B, general manager – sales (south region), said the company’s display was led by the Ricoh Pro C7500, a mid-range four-colour digital press. The machine supports sheet sizes up to 13x19 inches and can handle substrates up to 470 gsm in simplex.

He added that the press can be upgraded with an additional fifth colour station, enabling applications such as white, gold or silver, allowing printers to expand into higher-value jobs.

Alongside digital printing, Monotech showcased its PixelGlow embellishment portfolio. The entry-level Lumina model is a manual, offline foil system designed for businesses entering the embellishment segment, supporting substrates from 150 gsm to 600 gsm.

The company also demonstrated the Radiant Pro Plus, a fully automated system featuring inline foiling, automatic feeding and an AI-based scanner for precise application of spot UV and foil. The system supports variable micron thickness, enabling differentiated effects on the same sheet — a capability not typically available in conventional flat UV processes.

Monotech’s portfolio also includes the PixelGlow Vertex, an embellishment system, although it was not displayed at the exhibition.

According to Mohankrishnan, while digital printing continues to see steady demand, there is growing interest in embellishment solutions as printers look to improve return on investment. He noted that standard four-colour print alone offers limited margins, prompting converters to explore premium applications.

He added that demand for embellishment is being driven by the need for differentiation, particularly in premium segments, where customers expect enhanced visual and tactile finishes without significantly increasing costs.
