At its stand, Obility will be presenting the latest, tried-and-tested options for digitising and automating print production

“We announced at the beginning of 2020 that we would be exhibiting with our own stand at the next Drupa for the first time, allowing us to present the unique possibilities of our eBusiness print platform. We are sticking to this promise,” explained Frank Siegel, managing director, Obility. “Ultimately, Germany is the birthplace of the print industry and it continues to play a significant role here. As its leading global trade show, Drupa has been providing orientation for the industry since 1951. Traditionally, many companies set their future course and make important investment decisions whilst attending. We are looking forward to many in-depth technical discussions with customers and interested parties from the German-speaking world about the latest industry challenges at Drupa 2021.”

From Obility’s perspective, there is no way around digitisation and automation of the print production process. The company is one of the pioneers in the field of eBusiness print and, through many projects with demanding customers, has played a key role in shaping developments in this market over the past 15 years. “Whilst the Obility platform could easily be transferred to other sectors, our company is fully committed to the print and media industry,” continues Siegel. “And although we are now successfully using other communication channels with our customers, such as online seminars, participation in Drupa 2021, for us, is mandatory. In our view, digital media can only replace personal discussions — especially with potential new customers — to a limited extent.”

In Düsseldorf, Obility will present its latest innovations for further increasing process efficiency in print production, as well as allowing visitors to explore the company’s tried-and-tested solutions. These include the Smart MIS and print ERP system Printmanager for automatic costing of print jobs; a new browser-based application for warehouse and material flow control with mobile communication terminals and the Designer Pro web-to-print tool developed entirely in-house and with previously unseen capabilities for online design and editing of print products. Finally, a selection of clients will give their views on how the comprehensive functionality of the Obility eBusiness print platform has enabled them to open up new business areas and secure the future of their companies.
