The Jeti Tauro is a 2.5m hybrid UV inkjet press with 32 heads for six colours and optional white or primer station, designed for printing on both rigid and flexible material (up to 2.5m wide roll).

The other machine is the Jeti Mira, a six-colour plus white UV inkjet flatbed printer with optional varnish or primer. It comes in 2.7m x 1.6m and 2.7m x 3.2m table sizes.

“The new printer features moving-gantry architecture with split-vacuum table featuring six vacuum zones with automatic and independent control of the front and back vacuum zones to reduce vacuum masking and offer high productivity, impressive colours, and print quality on a variety of media,” quoted Dominiek Arnout, vice president, Agfa Graphics.

“We believe the market will embrace these two new systems that make ultimate use of our dedicated ink technology, and our tailored sign and display workflow. Our matched component approach guarantees that every component yields the best possible result,” he says.

With the launch of its other product, UV-curable ink, Agfa claims that both the printers with thin ink layer technology will deliver large-gamut high quality prints with the lowest ink consumption in the industry. UV inks are specially designed for flexible applications, special substrates and outdoor signage printed on polypropylene or styrene based media,” said Arnout.

Agfa launched the new printers at the International Sign Association (ISA) Sign Expo in Las Vegas, where it also launched Asanti 2.0 for automation and integration in the wide format workflow.

Another Agfa launch in the series was the Asanti 2.0 for automation and integration in the wide- format workflow. The software controls the entire process from prepress to production to finishing. It also features new options for printing white on transparent substrates.

Highlighting the benefits of the new software, Arnout concluded “Asanti’s comprehensive integration of file handling, colour management and preflighting also reduce the risk of mistakes and make the complete system more productive.”
