A team led by R Gopakumar, president of KMPA and O Venugopal vice president south of AIFMP along with Biju Jose honorary secretary, KMPA, G Venugopal, Shaji Mon and R R Babuji handed over the books to the students.
Meanwhile, in a recent press conference, KMPA estimated Rs 150-crores as the current losses for the printers with the long-term losses expected to go up to Rs 400-crores from the recent devastation from floods in Kerala.
According to the association’s initial report, around 75 big and small printing units have been severely affected by the floods. The association appealed to the Government for moratorium and assistance in bank loans.
“A majority of the printing presses located in Aluva, Chalakudy, Perumbavoor, Cheranalloor, Eloor, and Udyogamandal suffered damage. Apart from it printing presses in Kozhikode, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha also were inundated,” said O Venugopal.
