“We produce more than 700 plates on our 24 hours production shift thus, approximately 500 plates were being produced by the BasysPrint. We needed a heavy-duty digital platesetter in addition to the BasysPrint. Kodak has the best technology when it comes to thermal and that pushed us to go for Kodak device,” Jagan Mohan Reddy, director, Karshak Art Printers, said.

Established in 1980 by Jagan Mohan Reddy, Karshak is a firm to watch out for. A self-made man, Reddy was engaged in the printing of books and bank stationery. Today, the company is one of the biggest commercial printers in Telangana producing various commercial printing applications including books, study materials, and printing government jobs.

The company’s 35,000-sqft unit in Vidyanagar houses a strong taskforce of perfectors, multi-colour sheetfed presses and web offset presses and finishing equipment that churn out more than ten tonnes of paper daily. In the pre-press division, the firm has one BasysPrint CTCP, One ECRM Violet CTP, and One Kodak Thermal CtP — that serve the company’s monthly requirement of approximately 21,000 plates. All the pre-press units and a digital printing press have been supplied by Monotech Systems in its last 15 years of relationship with Karshak.
