Archa Packaging is a new venture from Diamond Printing Press, a well-known commercial and books printing company, who has been serving customers from the packaging industry for the last four to five years.

“We are in the industry from 1946, and this is our diversification. We established Archa Packaging last year to serve our packaging customers better,” said Sharad Mittal of Archa Packaging.

The DGM SmartFold 1100SL automatic folder-gluer is equipped with envelope/ pocket device, four- and six-corner boxes, semiautomatic box collection table, three-gun plasma treatment and other advanced features like automatic side registration, all middle conveyors, longer folding section and all available option to run three-ply corrugated cartons. “I evaluated all other available options in the market and found DGM value for money and technically appropriate for the latest requirement,” he said.

The DGM Technocut 1050 automatic die-cutter is equipped with all latest features, including inline pile preparation, non-stop feeder, non-stop delivery apron, high pile machine with PLC controlled cutting force with safety to protect over cutting pressure, safety clutch and five-cam belt drive system for better acceleration and de-acceleration of the machine from 0-7500 and 7500-0 speed.

In the new venture, Archa plans to manufacture mono cartons, corrugated boxes, labels and plastic bottles. “Our mono cartons and plastic bottles units are functioning well. We are working on setting up the corrugation and label units. The entire operation will go functional by October,” he added.

The packaging unit consists of eight acres of land and 250,000-sqft of it is constructed.

For existing mono cartons, the company has a six-colour online coating printing press, dry lamination machine, Maxima die-cutter and folder-gluer from Vijaya.

“We are converting around 300 tonnes of board per month,” Mittal said. “We are producing around 30,000 plastic bottles for the pharma industry per day and will be producing more than one lakh by October daily.”

Mittal runs the company with his father Sunil. “We have seen a 300% growth in one year of establishment. Our target is pharma and FMCG customers and we want to provide a one-stop solution to them. That’s why we are operating in multiple segments,” he added.
