Heidelberg exhibits new Speedmaster's carton production capacity

Rainer Wolf, head of sheetfed product management, Heidelberg, shared that the press, unveiled during the China Print event in June, is already a success before even its official stage launch. “We were able to book contracts for more than 500 printers even before its official launch. Most customers signed up without seeing the press beforehand, such has been the trust and quality of the Speedmaster series presses,” he said.

According to Wolf, Speedmaster CX 104’s high-performance printing and durability ensure investment security. “Additionally, the newest digital integration and intelligent systems improve operator ergonomics and help to unlock the full potential of the press. The press is also flexible to adapt to the changing market requirements.”

The new Speedmaster CX 104 is designed to handle a range of materials from lightweight paper to carton stock for packaging. “Even in high-performance ranges with speed up to 16,500 sheets per hour, it impresses not only packaging professionals but the commercial and label printers as well.”

Florian Franken, head of product management, Speedmaster CX 104, provided in-depth details about the press during the first webinar session. He shared how the press enables quality folding carton production making use of the latest features of the new press with a live demonstration from the Heidelberg Print Media Centre at Wiesloch, Germany.

Franken guided through the complete production of cartons, right from the job changeovers to washing to UV printing. The features on focus included the benefits of Color Assistant Pro, Wash Assistant, Autoplate Pro and most importantly the Prinect Press Centre and the Intellistart 3 integration, among others.
