Enfocus’ new Pitstop version addresses PDF quality issues

By 17 Apr 2015

Enfocus recently announced its new update for the Pitstop 13. The new release has come as a development by the Ghent-based developer to solve the most problematic PDF quality challenges faced by printers.

The new release was also a major success in India when Enfocus’ Indian distributors, Thinkprint recently concluded its multi-city seminar in India to launch and discuss the new release.
The new Pitstop 13 release which focuses more on the PDF related issues that the printers have been facing has been designed to address the common mistakes usually a printer makes of bleed adjustments, RGB artworks for print, overprints and low resolution images for print.
Enfocus has dealt with these common issues in its Pitstop 13 thereby providing the printers with optimum quality PDF for smooth and efficient production.
Enfocus’ new addition, ‘add bleed action’ addresses one of the biggest challenges in the industry, the lack of bleed in supplied PDF files.
Pre-flighting is another area where the printers find it a challenge to help non-technical users understand the error and warning messages that get generated in the Pitstop. ‘Pitstop pre-flight reports’, also an addition into the new release, delivers a solution to this problem by enabling customers to customise these important messages. These messages can also be translated into other languages – even languages that are not currently supported by PitStop.
An important addition to the release is the ‘pre-flight restriction’. This new feature gives users endless options for customising the checks and fixes included in a pre-flight profile. Creating a much more targeted pre-flight check means users spend less time managing irrelevant warnings and errors.
Other highlights in the version 13 would be the PDF2image which lets users create PNG or JPEG images from PDF files and the improvements in the floating licence users.
