Creative manufactures decals for sports goods like cricket bats and hockey sticks. It also manufactures water transfer decals for sports helmets, stickers for foot wears, fascia panels for home appliances, electronics goods, weighing scales, instrumentation and medical electronics. It has also diversified into membrane switches and graphic overlays.

Established in 2002 by Pankaj Sharma and his younger brother Pradip Sharma , after taking great inspiration from their father and mentor Suraj Sharma, a veteran screen printer with an expertise in printing of decals for sports goods.

Pankaj Sharma is proud that the firm are specialists for the ability to print on special substrates such as polycarbonate, polyester, PVC, vinyl and metal.

He said, “The seeds of our success have been sown when our father Suraj Sharma and his elder brother started a screen printing unit that was functioning from their home in 1970s to print paper stickers, radio dials, gifts and diaries. In 1975 they started catering to the sports goods industry mainly by printing decals for bats and hockeysticks. It was a time when footballs would be printed with metal stamping system. Our father went a step ahead and started screen printing directly on the footballs. After he got separated from his brother, he inspired us to start a new screen printing unit. Thus Creative Edge was founded in 2002 with a work space of about 2,000sq/ft Later we shifted to a 4,800sq/ft factory where we had a couple of machines from Grafica Flextronica and a few vacuum tables.”

Today, the firm supplies products all over India besides exporting cricket bat stickers to UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Sharma said, “DMI’s workshop was a wakeup call. We felt there was no point in manual screen printing. We have implemented some of the techniques and tips that we learnt during the DMI workshops, resulting in dramatic changes in our print quality. I feel every screen printer in industrial printing should attend these workshop at least once.”
