Progressive Printing Press, based in Surat, Gujarat, is known for printing high end fashion catalogues. The company believes that opting digital printing and investing and using more chemical-free technology is key for a better tomorrow.

Q: How did you stay in touch with your staff during the lockdown?
We have 85 people in our company and we usually stay in touch with each other over phone or WhatsApp.

Q: Describe the work your firm does...
We print high end fashion catalogues.

Q: One top job that built your reputation...
It is very difficult to give credit to one job in particular, as it’s our long journey that built our reputation.

Q: What’s your typical customer?
We cater to textile industries as well. All our customer are very demanding in regards to time schedule.

Q: Which territories do you serve?
Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Q: Which type of markets do you serve?
Textile industries.

Q: What equipment do you run?
We have four brand new RMGT four-colour machines with coater since last four years, and a complete prepress, post-press and value addition machine.

Q: The first kit you will invest in 2020/2021...
Digital foiling.

Q: What’s the USP of your factory operations?
We print only single shift; no night shift, because our USP is we only print under our self supervision.

Q: Your proudest achievement...
Receiving SME Company of the Year Award from PrintWeek in 2018.

Q: Where do you see print in your city in five years’ time?
Several printers will be diverting from commercial to packaging.

Trivia Time

One trivia about Surat’s history...
Surat was the gateway to Mecca for Hajj by ship a hundred years back. Even today, the port area is known as Makkaipool. Surat was the largest port of India in those days.
