Describe your company.
Creative Graphics is a Noida–based flexo trade house and has been in the industry for the last 12-years. It is a proprietorship firm involved in high-class flexo plate-processing. The company has an Esko CDI, theDupont Cyrel Digiflow exposure unit, alongwith the latest processing equipment from Schwan, Germany and catering to customers ranging from wide-web to narrow-web, corrugated and other segments of the printing industry from the entire length and breadth of India. Creative works 12-hours a day and caters more than 250 customers.
What does the machine do?
Digiflow is a patented technology from Dupont. It gives a different structure to the dots by introducing nitrogen into the plate-making environment during the time of exposing. These flat-top and robust-shouldered dots enable one-to-one imaging and better detailing of the printed result. It also enhances the plate-performance and increases the life of the flexo plates.
Why did you choose this particular machine?
We had installed the equipment to serve our customers with a better product. We have always been keen tointroduce the latest technologies and are the only pre-press house in the country to have this technology. The installation of the technology has also created a niche market for us.
Did you look at any other similar machine?
We evaluated other technologies and manufacturers also. Since the equipment is expensive and requireshuge investment, I myself and our technical team had performed a comparative study and found Dupont best. We have found Dupont as a good trade-partner and business-companion for us. It was an easier approach as compared to the others.
Why did you make the purchase?
We always want to offer a differentiated and superior product to the industry, hence we had purchased the equipment. Being expensive and equipped with the latest technology, it is fulfilling our parameters.
What features do you particularly like?
Because of the inert nitrogen environment, it inhibits oxygen polymerisation of the plate. The dot structure is flat and not round hence the dot gain is less. It enables better ink transfer, is easy to operate and does not lock us into a specific product, thus making business sense too.
Is there anything you wish it had that it doesn’t?
Digiflow must have nitrogen generator with it because nitrogen is one consumable product which you have keep buying and it is a big deterrent. You have to buy from market and keep changing the cylinders. If it had been equipped with nitrogen generator you had not to go outside to buy nitrogen.
How fast is it?
Since it is just flushes the exposure frame with nitrogen, it does not affect the speed.
How easy is it to use?
It is a push-button simple-operation machine. An intermediate-pass person can also operate the machine. Not much technical training is required and no extra process or steps are involved.
Has it won you any new work?
Yes, it has won new work for us. The market is very demanding and customers teach us by demanding new technologies and processes.
How much time or money has it saved?
Since nitrogen is an extra consumable for the machine so there is no saving on money. It is for enhancementof plate-performance.
Would you say that it offers value for money?
It brings in value to our customers. It adds feature to the product but at a cost.
Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?
No, nothing much. Everything was smooth.
What about the pre- and after-sales service?
No, no issues at all. The Dupont team was and is very much with us.
Who do you think the machine is right for?
Demand of flexo is increasing as far as quality production is concerned. The machine is right for enhanced and long-life flexo plates. Now we are fulfilling the demands of our customers.
Under what circumstances would you invest in another?
When the existing machine will be running on its full capacity and we will be moving in to bigger location.
