What does the machine do?
The machine is capable of printing books, magazine and newspaper in 4/4 colour.

Why did you choose this particular machine?
After doing market research on the available web offset machines we found the Pressline web offset press, to be compatible for book printing. Plus it ensures correct folding and colour registration.

Did you look at any other similar machine?
Yes, we did an extensive market survey before finalising on Pressline.

Why did you make the purchase?
We have a substantial order for book printing with very high volume which necessitated purchase of the press.

What features do you particularly like?
The Pressline press fitted with a double RCR unlike other ensuring ease of registration, auto splicer with double roll stand, IR dryer to ensure no set-off at the nip stages and the delivery belt. The blanket wash which cleans the blanket, ensures time-saving as well as reducing makeready waste of paper and ink.

Is there anything you wish it had that it doesn’t?
I wish I would have gone in for a fold moisturiser at the folding level to ensure perfect creasing.

How fast is it?
The machine has a capacity to print at speed of up to 30,000 copies per hour.

How easy is it to use?
The machine is user friendly and requires only two to three persons managing the auto splicer, inking and the console functions.

Has it won you any new work?
The installation is very new. We are in the process of printing the existing load of work. I am sure it will lead to procurement of fresh orders.

How much time or money has it saved?
Both are substantial. However, we have begun operations. I am sure it will be a right solution for return on investment.

Would you say that it offers value for money?
Yes.

Any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?
As with any installation, there are teething troubles and ours was not an exception. Things settled after the installation.

What about the pre- and after-sales service?
We have been getting adequate support.

Who do you think the machine is right for?
Machine is good for high volume book printing as well as for newspapers.

Under what circumstances would you invest in another?
If the workload increases, which we are sure that it will, only then will we plan to boost our production capacity.

Supplier’s Response
Satish Bajwa, chairman and managing director, Pressline India, says, “Generally all web presses use two ink form rollers for application of the ink film to plate. Pressline Prima is fitted with a third rider roller to ensure finer miscibility of ink. This avoids hickeys in solids and screens. Additionally, blanket cylinders have been given a narrow gap allowing an extra 10mm print area. RP Printers has recently installed the Prima and have begun to load work on the press. The Prima, a high-volume press, has the capability to meet the requirements of RP Printers and will justify the investment it has made.”
