Taco Vision’s Abstract Painting receives global nod

Mumbai-based Taco Vision has received the Artistic Lenticular Printing Award 2012, for its ‘Abstract Painting’ at Drupa, the first Asian firm to attain a global accolade of this kind.

“We are delighted to be given this award. We had not expected it to come to us the big way! An Asian company making news globally is not one hears about too often. We couldn’t make it to Drupa but are exhilarated with the wishes we have been receiving,” said T P Pandey, managing director at Taco Visions.

The Lenstar Lenticular Printing Awards 2012, held on 4 May had 21 nominations, Taco Visions being the sole Indian representative.

The award winning entry was a 901mm x 501mm art printed on a 20 lpi lenticular sheet. “The job was produced to raise the standards for creativity and attain perfection. The wish is to push ourselves each time, each job. The award gives us the desired impetus,” added Pandey.

The 3D lenticular print specialist has created various innovations, including an ad for the German car manufacturer, Volkswagen for the special edition of The Times of India (Bombay, Pune, Delhi and Bengaluru Times) and The Hindu, Chennai city edition.
 
In the year 2010, it was awarded with an international award for its spectacular efforts in lenticular 3D printing by IAPHC (International Association of Printing House Craftsmen), USA
