Modern Printers is a family-owned printing business run by Mahendra Bakle with his father Ramesh Bakle. It is a commercial printing firm which was established in 1955 by Manikrao Bakle, grandfather of Mahendra Bakle. It specialises in magazines and book printing.

Mahendra Bakle, owner, Modern Printers, said, “The Komori Lithrone press will definitely strengthen us to cater to the increasing demand and cope with the competitive market. The press which was procured from Japan is a 2001 model. It has increased our production volume by 50%. The instability of currency was the reason for us to opt for a refurbished machine.”

“Also, as we possess Komori Sprint two-colour press, our operators are comfortable with Komori machines. The semi-automatic plate changer and auto makeready feature of L426 has reduced the changeover time by 15 minutes,” added Bakle.

Besides Komori Lithrone 426 and Sprint, the printing facility is also equipped with a Screen CTP, two Shoei folding machines, two Polar cutting machines, a single clamp Welbound perfect binding machine and a brand-new Hohner Exact stitcher which was procured at Drupa 2012.

Modern Printers which operates from a 6,000 sq/ft area employs 40 people. As a part of expansion, the print firm has invested in a 12,000 sq/ft site in the city.
