At IGAS 2015, the company will be exhibiting a product lineup with uniform machine appearance that highlights the strengths of the 1,050mm format and 1,130mm format presses, as well as the A1-size press.

For Ryobi MHI, which came into existence on January 2014 as a joint venture between Ryobi and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Printing and Packaging Machinery (MHI-PPM), India is a rising market, and the company wants to exploit the potential to the fullest. Subsequently, the company has expanded its product lineup and has enhanced development, manufacturing, marketing, and service functions.

The efforts have paid well. “In last 18 months, we have sold 42 presses and the number will soon go up, said Vinay Kaushal, director, Provin Technos, the Indian representative of Ryobi MHI, adding that the Tokyo exhibition will showcase a lot of new developments from the company.

Organised by the Japan Graphic Arts Suppliers Committee (JGASC), the IGAS is a comprehensive international trade show on print media, which showcases the latest products, technology, and services related to printing, paper converting, and digital graphics. It provides visitors with new business opportunities for the print media industry by presenting the latest technology and various solutions.

Among the new offerings, the company’s 1,130mm offset press combines the basic performance of MHI-PPM’s former 1,130mm format presses with the easy maintenance software, providing a maximum sheet width of 1,130mm and a maximum printing speed of 15,000 sph. As the world’s first 1,130mm format offset press equipped with an LED-UV curing system, the model, to be  exhibited at IGAS 2015, will also feature a SimulChanger, fully automatic simultaneous plate changer to demonstrate fast plate changing.

In the 1,050mm format offset press segment, the model to be exhibited at the show will be equipped with the newly developed automatic non-stop feeder and a delivery shutter to demonstrate non-stop printing on cardboard. It will also feature a chamber coater for demonstrations of high-value-added printing.

Another press from the company stable is the cost-performance 920 series A1-size offset presses, which handle 8-up A4-size printing. Featuring a maximum printing speed of 16,200 sheets per hour, it includes enhancements such as varnish coating capability, added value, and productivity.
Koji Okubo, general manager sales, Ryobi MHI, said, “Following the recent success in the Indian market, Ryobi MHI is giving special attention to the Indian print CEO. Thus, few additional events have been organised during the show especially for the Indian customers.”

All exhibited presses will be equipped with eco-friendly LED-UV curing systems that the company said it is the first in the world to develop for sheetfed offset presses.

Apart from presentations on the presses, the evening also saw a presentation by Manmohan Joshi of Toya Ink, who talked about the LED UV inks manufactured by Toyo for use in Ryobi MHI machines. “UV inks, which are solvent-less environment-harmonised ink based on curing done by energy emitted from the UV rays. We at Toyo Ink are forerunners in adopting and developing inks derived from LED curing technology to low energy consuming UV inks,” Joshi said.
