PrintPack: Ferag to supply 12 inserting and mailroom lines to Mathrubhumi

These 12 lines will be installed at Mathrubhumi’s 10 printing centres. Besides this, Ferag also announced the confirmation of the order from Dinamalar, another newspaper based in South India.

According to the Ferag, the installation of these 12 inserting and mailroom lines will take two and half years to complete.  

Kawal Arora, managing director of Ferag India, said: "Mathrubhumi has chosen us as their partners for its ten printing centres. This will be the biggest installation of inserting line in Asia."

Bhasi P T, deputy general manager production and maintenance at Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing, said: "We have ordered the system as per our requirement. Keeping the pace with the current scenario in the newspaper segment it is important to upgrade and adopt the automated technology."

The Kerala-based daily in Malayalam, Mathrubhumi has also opted for the Navigator from Ferag. The Navigator technology was launched during the Ifra 2010 held in Hamburg.

Daniel M Faesser, chairman at Ferag India, said: "It will set a benchmark in the industry and will be responsible for the programmed production of the high speed stacking system."

Besides Mathrubhumi, Ferag has also received the order for its single gripper conveyor line from Dinamalar.

Arora said: " Dinamalar has opted for a double width high speed web offset, which will be connected to the single gripper conveyor line to transfer copies at a high speed to Ferag’s programmable stacker and strapping line."

Ferag has launched ‘Fold n Stitch’ in the PrinPack India 2011 which can be seen in Hall 2.
