Print Summit '11 draws over 400 participants

The Bombay Master Printers Association hosted the fifth Print Summit 2011 at the Tata Theatre in the NCPA, Mumbai on 24 February, 2011 also the Printers' Day.

The event drew more than 400 printers. The Print Summit 2011, a conference series started five years ago in 2007, in Mumbai centred around the theme – Value, Evolve and Grow.

There were five presentations followed by a four briefer presentations and discussion by an expert panel.

The organising committee headed by Fred Poonawala did a splendid job, in planning and executing the Summit, and to give the theme of the event its full due.

The keynote address was delivered by Kishore Biyani, group CEO of Future Group. The home grown retailer told the audience to think big. "The biggest printer is about Rs 500-crore or so," he said adding: "it’s high time the printers see that its operations grow to Rs 1,000-crorer plus."

Overall the conference provided ample opportunities for discussions, knowledge and experience exchange in the sphere of offset and digital technology; and man, material, cost and finance management.
