Packaging specialist Rukson fortifies its post-press with Bobst

The company specialises in MetPet folding box cartons and its product mix includes a large share of cartons for the pharmaceutical segment. “Over a period, we have expanded our client base in the pharma and FMCG segments. The adoption of a sturdy post-press is an attempt to enhance our efficiency. The total investment into various post-press is to the tune Rs eight crore in the past six months,” said Kishin Panjabi, director of Rukson Packaging.

According to Panjabi, the investment in the Bobst machines and a Komori LS 32 six-colour plus coater press has almost doubled the capacity of the firm.

Rukson Packaging is managed by Panjabi and his son Gobind who said, “We did look at various Chinese and Taiwanese machines, but opted for Bobst for its brand value, reliability, long service life and the ability of the machine to churn out quality products even at high speed. Also, the quality of the service offered by the Bobst team has been excellent.”

According to the Junior Panjabi, “Bagging the Reliance Jio job was a game changer for us. Today, we supply two-lakh Jio sim card kit per day. With Bobst machines, we are able to cater to this quality job effectively and on a timely basis.”

Amit Tiwari, sales manager – west (sheetfed), Bobst said, “Rukson has been our customer since 2010 when they had invested in a Bobst Ambition folder-gluer and SP 102 die-cutter. The service process support and steady performance of existing equipment played a key role in opting for the machines from Bobst again.”

During the last one year, Rukson pumped in almost Rs 20-crore in a raft of machinery. These include Esko’s Kongsberg XE10 sample maker and Esko’s pre-press workflow, Komori Lithrone LS 32 six-colour plus coater press, a platesetter by Cron, among others.
