Mumbai to host iPHEX 2015

With the support of ministry of commerce and industry and the Government of India, Pharmexcil has initiated the exhibition to be held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre from 13 to 15 May.

 

With over 500 foreign delegates from 110 countries in the previous year, the third edition event is expected to witness more than 20,000 potential buyers including 450 overseas buyers from 89 countries and 40 drug regulators from 15-20 countries. Over 350 Indian companies from the pharma and healthcare sectors would be exhibiting their products and services.

 

The three-day event also includes technical sessions on various regulatory subjects and interactive sessions with overseas regulators. The exhibitors list as disclosed by a leading business daily includes Lupin Laboratories, Mankind Pharma, Ajanta Pharma, Granules India, Charak Pharma etc.

 

The event will be inaugurated by Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Minister of State (MoS) for chemicals and fertilisers and Girish Bapat, MoS for civil supplies and consumer protection.

 

According to Dr PV Appaji, director general, Pharmexcil, promoting brand India and enhancing export of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products from India are the major objectives of this initiative. “Pharmexcil’s main focus this year is to get drug regulators from other countries to recognise the Indian Pharmacopoeia,” added Appaji.

 

Addressing the show, Bhavin Mehta, committee chief of iPhex, said in a press release, “The Indian export growth rate is one to be proud of. In order to promote the Indian pharma sector with a special focus on export market development, Pharmexcil is organising iPhex. The event will be a complete value chain show and will witness the presence of business visitors including overseas buyers and drug regulators. Huge business opportunities are expected to emerge during the event. Besides, this year we have launched a mobile app called iPHEX. This app is a perfect electronic event guide displaying the list of buyers, exhibitors, their speciality, areas of interest etc. at just a click.”

 

The pharma machinery exhibition, Pharma Pro&Pack Expo 2015 is organised concurrently with iPhex.
