Established in 2001, Jain offset Print is a partnership-based engaged in manufacturing of two-piece and three-piece boxes, labels, tags, stickers, etc made of paper and used for textile packaging. With an annual turnover of Rs 30-crore and volume growth of 30%, Jain Offset claims to have established itself as a leader in the business in Surat both in terms of volume as well as a brand.

Speaking exclusively to PrintWeek India, Mukesh Jain, director, Jain Offset, said, “As we grew, we observed that we were losing internal control in various departments. Therefore, we were contemplating on ERP for the last two years. Plus, we felt a pressing need for precise costing and perfect reporting at various stages of production and sales.”

After having burnt his hands with a locally developed customised software, Jain evaluated several alternatives in the market and finally turned to Param ERP. “We found Param ERP to be a comprehensive software package that deals with all the processes involved, right from making quotations to issuing invoices,” said Jain.

Speaking about the hurdles in implementation, Jain, said, “The first thing that was required to implement the ERP was a change in mindset. Change is necessary and simultaneously inertia makes it difficult to shift. But considering the rewards it was a worthy exercise. It involved comprehensive training and understanding of ERP and acute details of our business. We started benefiting from the implementation in four months of going live.”

When asked, what is the one thing that you wish it had that it doesn’t Jain said, the software must also accommodate accounting features.

“The beauty of Param ERP is that we have been able to improve our planning process thanks to the subtle forecasting that it provides. In the next, ten months we plan to integrate Param ERP with our clients’ ERP systems,” concluded Jain.
