Flint Group to showcase its expertise at Labelexpo Southeast Asia

Flint Group’s labels and packaging technologies will present possibilities and signpost opportunities at the newest Labelexpo event – Labelexpo Southeast Asia. To be held from 10 to 12 May 2018 at Bangkok, the event’s premise is a clear focus on label and packaging printing. “We are excited to support the first Labelexpo Southeast Asia,” said Antoine Fady, CEO, Flint Group. “We are looking forward to showing label and packaging specialists our latest market leading technologies and innovations brought together on one booth. With our highly expert team from narrow-web, flexographic products and digital print we will also provide updates and insight on everything from prepress and pre-production, to digital print and embellishments, converting and delivery.”

Production flexibility with the Xeikon 3300

Xeikon will be demonstrating how its Xeikon 3300 roll-to-roll configuration supports high quality production of self-adhesive and the heat-transfer labels. The cost effective entry level narrow-web label press excels in productivity and prints at true 1200dpi offering operators the highest quality available, flexibility and operations scalability. It is the only digital press in the market with a real prepress workflow and strong color management functionality to ensure maximum performance with CMYK + White or special colors as may be required. Its water resistant dry toner allows the use of substrates without any specific treatment both before and after printing.

“The Xeikon 3300 is the cornerstone of our comprehensive portfolio of toner-based digital label presses,” said Bent Serritslev, general manager Asia for Xeikon. “It offers label and packaging converters a truly flexible solution that can grow as their business grows. It also helps businesses investigate new market opportunities. This is something we can further support with our aXelerate programme established to help customers expand their services, more effectively sell digital and increase volume, thus making Xeikon a viable and sustainable investment.”

Opportunities with food compliant packaging

Converters can consider new market opportunities with Flint Group Narrow Web’s comprehensive range of food packaging compliant printing inks for all major printing technologies: UV Mercury Flexo, UV LED Flexo, Water Based Flexo and UV Offset. Among the latest innovations on show will be the recent advances in low migration – with a special focus on the award winning and ground-breaking UV LED low migration technology, EkoCure Ancora.

Kelly Kolliopoulos, global marketing director, Flint Group Narrow Web, said, “Food packaging opportunities that did not exist before are being opened up by low migration LED curable inks and printing systems. LED systems operate at much lower temperatures which enables narrow web customers to print on heat sensitive films. They can also meet food packaging compliance thanks to Flint Group's novel low migration ink chemistry. We are excited to show visitors our economic model detailing how fast return on investment can be, as well as the latest on food packaging compliance, LED and reliability of cure."

Comprehensive class-leading portfolio

Flint Group’s Flexographic divisions’ comprehensive portfolio includes Nyloflex printing plates and equipment and Rotec sleeves and adapters. The latest addition is the easier to use Nyloflex Xpress Thermal Processing System. It delivers thermal platemaking with no compromise in quality and will demonstrate highly consistent and stable plate production. Central to the processing system are Nyloflex Thermal Printing Plates and the innovative, highly efficient and environmentally friendly Nyloflex Developer Roll.

Friedrich von Rechteren, VP sales, EMEA and global marketing, said, “We have reviewed the thermal process holistically and that has enabled us to build this highly responsive portfolio of solutions that are in a class of their own. The combination of best in equipment design, plate development and engineered fabric, has enabled us to create solutions that help reduce costs, enhance quality and improve sustainability.

To expand Flint Group’s offering for the label market, the Nyloprint WF Sharp will also be announced during the show. The water washable, film based plate for the high-end label market improves quality with highest line count for reproduction of finest details.

While our maximum resolution of 5080dpi means we can create extremely high quality products.
