Baumer showcased its newly developed print head Xdot, which is designed for printing double-line Braille.

Milind Bhalerao, general manager at Baumer India, said: "The Xdot system offers maximum flexibility. The large number of different country-specific Braille characteristics requires fast adaptation to the respective national version. This can be done simply at the push of a button with the Xdot Braille printing system."

Using the Xdot system, the height of the Braille dots can be felt. The height of the dot, 0.35mm is higher than the dots produced by conventional screen printing production. According to Baumer, this feature will aid the associations for the visually challenged because a higher height contrast enables the visually challenged people to better recognise Braille.
