Targeted at short- to medium-runs of packaging and POP jobs, the machine turns out over 1200 square meters per hour at full speed and can run a wide range of substrates, from the thinnest of 25µ foils up to 450gsm heavy paper.

Manesh Shetty of Agfa Graphics India said that: "Dotrix digital UV inkjet press, with a printing width of 63cm, is the most productive UV, single-pass printing press in the industry."

Dotrix endorses the piezo drop-on-demand print technology across multilevel Agfa printheads.  The base unit configuration includes roll-to-roll servo driven with jumbo unwinder and rewinder, substrate pre-treatment options as well as Corona, web cleaning and anti-static specifications. According to the company claim, the jumbo unwind and rewind system of the Dotrix Modular can handle rolls of up to 1250 mm (49") diameter, weighing up to 800 kg providing long uninterrupted print runs.

"Besides the common benefits of digital printing like minimum make ready time, instant job switching and less waste, it is the only digital press able to print with high production capacity on a wide variety of substrates ranging from flexible foils, 20 micron over self-adhesives, to folding cartons up to 600 micron," added Shetty.

The Dotrix can be integrated with all commonly available units for varnishing, slitting, die-cutting and sheeting. The machine’s modular design can be configured with any combination of tooling units, hot foiling, hot stamping, lamination etc.
