PrintWeek India Awards 2018: GK Vale & Co is the Digital Photo Album Printer of the Year

GK Vale, one of the largest photo lab players in South India, won the Award during the 10th edition of the Awards held in Mumbai on 29 November 2018.

The sample, Benny and Shathriya Wedding Ceremony, with a run length of one, is 30 sheets of 24x15-inches printed on Canon media on the Canon DreamLabo 5000. It has a textured effect, some pages with gold foiling and some with silver. It also has a special LED video display inside.

In the sample, Kuruvilla Swetha Wedding Ceremony, the sheets are post-pressed with gold foiling on most sheets, silver foiling on two and texture foiling on sheets with spot UV, even though images are printed in greyscale. The album cover pad and box have embossed text and the back of the box has a QR code which leads to YouTube.

 The sample, Kuruvilla Swetha Wedding Ceremony, has 36 sheets of 10x12-inches printed on Canon DreamLabo 5000. The cover pad is in silk with text embossed and the box is made of raw silk. It is printed in seven-colour die-based ink using inkjet technology, to produce wider range of shades and to achieve more precise colour control.  

The sample, Athira and Vivek Wedding Ceremony, has 42 sheets of 12x15-inches, printed in seven colours on Canon Lustre media 255gsm. The cover pad is in silk with text embossed and the box is made of raw silk. Only one copy of the album exists.
