PS 18: Print has to be transient, says Indu Shahani

Indu Shahani, an educator and the chairperson of Academic Council of India delivered the keynote address at the Print Summit 2018.

In her address, Shahani shared how her journey as an educationist was about passion for academics. She said, "It is very important to have compassion along with education. And there has to be continuous innovation"
 
Drawing an analogy, Shahani said, "Print too, has to constantly move. It is necessary for the industry to be transient and find modern ways to do business. Also, we need more entrepreneurs in India and hence would encourage the new generation in print to take up family businesses and create employment. "
 
Shahani informed that "By 2020, India will be the only country which will 47 million in surplus, whereas countries like the US will have a deficit. Hence, one cannot ignore India's role and the importance of education."
 
With an aim to hone the technology and various skill for the youth, Shahani has introduced three new institutes for design and innovation, school of communication and school for management and entrepreneurship.
 
"The time to change is now. Think about new technology and finally think about the future. This will hold the key to future success," concluded Shahani.
