Indian-made X-CEL-36000 from The Printers House factory in Faridabad is an economical, robust and easy-to-use printing press that fulfils the all demands of web offset printing, says Rahul Kumar

Launched in 2002, the Orient X-CEL-36000 web offset printing press is in the news. Founded in 1946, The Printers House (TPH) has manufacturing unit in Faridabad, Haryana. The Printers House has bagged a series of big orders before Drupa 2012.
A company spokesman, George Kuriakose says, “TPH has pinned 2011-12 as its most productive year in terms of orders, production capacity and turnover.”
The X-CEL-36000 is equipped with special features which provide the user to provide the faster service on the strength of this machine, TPH has consolidated its position in Bangladesh, CIS and Algerian market.
This means more than 100 presses have been installed. Of this, 85% are installed in India. Of this, 95% are Indian newspapers and 5% are book printers.

Robust construction
The TPH Orient X-CEL-36000 web offset printing press is capable of printing from 508 mm to 578 mm cut-off size at the speed of 36000 impressions an hour.
The web offset printing press has some permanent features like lever-type swing-down ink fountain with overrides for ink fountain roller, dynamically-balanced hard chromium plated plate and blanket cylinders, electro mechanical web-break detector, centralised oil pressure lubrication to drive the gears and some functions including pneumatics on/off, brushmists dampening system, infra-red web break detector, automatic lubrication for operating side bearging, motorised RCR and side register, centralised water circulation system with chiller, dynamically-balanced solid stainless steel plate and blanket cylinders, T-Bar blanket and spring type lock up system are optional.
Kohli says: “The features in the X-CEL-36000 printing press are very unique as we provide user-friendly operation along with ease of use. The features in X-CEL-36000 not only improve the quality, but also the productivity at a lower cost. We see our customers demanding an automated version of the machine not only to save on manpower but to reduce print waste and decentralise printing.”
Market condition
To counter the other Indian printing press manufacturers, the X-CEL-36000 is competitively designed and priced. According to Kohli, the prices which are offered by the other Indian manufacturer are very low but there is lack of aftersales service and technological advancements.
He adds: “We have a strong aftersales service support and a design team. We are committed to the customer from the day the order is confirmed. Due to our competitive pricing and the strong after-sales service, the printers prefer to own a TPH product.”
Customer testimonial
Mutli-location Hindi broadsheet daily Dainik Hari Bhumi is one of the customers of TPH who has Orient X-Cel 36000 in its four printing facilities out of five. And the five printing facilities are Chhattisgarh, Raipur, Bilaspur, Rohtak and Jabalpur.
Hari Bhumi is a Hindi broadsheet daily with a circulation of more than six lakh newspapers per day.
Kulbir Chikara, CEO, Hari Bhumi, says: “We installed the TPH’s web offset printing press because of its faster speed. Earlier we had machines of 30,000 impressions and hour. It is equipment with tremendous added advantage and you can upgrade it.
“The output quality is good. This helps us to sell our product well in the market,” he adds.
Chikara concludes that the-Cel 36000 has been a blessing – especially when compared to other web offset printing presses.
