What does the software do?
GMC is a platform which is proven to help business profit from multi-channel communications. This software is used for variable data printing (VDP) and personalisation. It is meant for high volume transaction and transpromo print.

Why did you choose this particular software?
There are features available in this software which create custom formula by scripting, connection to database is very easy, a flow-system is very good, most importantly imposition is also very easy. This is very important for us since most of the VDP that we do is on offset stationery.

Did you look at any other similar software?
Yes, we did but we opted for GMC since it best suited our requirement.

Why did you make the purchase?
We have huge volumes of VDP. On an average, we print more than seven million sheets a month. We were spending a lot of time on form set-up and getting the imposition right. As our volumes kept increasing it was imperative for us to look at a software. We were very sure that this software would help us increase productivity by reducing the make-ready time.

What features do you particularly like?
Scripting, data processing and imposition.

Is there anything you wish it had that it doesn’t?
Yes. The feature which could help the page-merging flexibility after the NS splitter. We require this feature.

How fast is it?
It is very fast and easy to work.

What’s the quality like?
Excellent quality

How reliable is it?
The software is fairly reliable and very stable.

How easy is it to use?
It is very easy to understand and use.
How much time or money has it saved?
Like I mentioned earlier, our volumes keep increasing but we can’t keep adding people to handle more volumes. We need automation and that is where GMC software comes in. The software has helped us reduce our make-ready time and has increased productivity by nearly 70%. Our form set up team is now able to get more forms ready for production.

Would you say that it offers value for money?
It surely does offer value for money.

Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?
The initial teething problems which was expected as we were changing the platform of how forms were set up. Other than that no other problems.

What about the pre- and after-sales service?
The support is very good. This is a software so what is more important is to get the team very familiar with full capabilities of the software. Over here GMC has been excellent in providing on-the-job training and support.

Who do you think the software is right for?
A printing firm which caters to any kind of variable printing such as policy document, bill printing, greeting cards, direct marketing related documents, generate a personalised PDF/html account.

Under what circumstances would you invest in another?
This is a software and most modules have been purchased and so we need to keep adding user licenses as we expand our capacities. We are about to place another order for five more user licenses. Plus if we go multi-locational then our choice for the new location will be GMC.
