Dheeraj Sharma, sales managerm North, Zund, said the first day witnessed good footfall and encouraging enquiries, particularly from the printing and packaging segment. “Since this edition focuses on printing and packaging, we expect deeper penetration of our products, not only in metro cities but also in tier-I and tier-II cities,” he said.
Positioned as a premium brand in the digital cutting segment, Zund is known for its dial-less cutters that cater to a wide range of applications beyond packaging. Sharma explained that Zund cutters are used in printing lines as well as in form cutting, acoustics, blanket cutting, and die-cutting applications, allowing the brand to serve multiple industry segments.
Looking ahead to 2026, Sharma expects a gradual shift in customer mindset towards branded solutions. “While non-branded or Chinese machines are impacting the market right now because they are cheaper, we believe customers will increasingly move towards established brands as they become more educated about long-term value,” he noted.
On sustainability, Sharma highlighted the longevity of Zund machines as a key differentiator. “The life of our product is more than 15 years. Many customers are still using Zund cutters after that period, which is rare with non-branded machines. This long lifecycle supports sustainability and also improves repeat business for branded products,” he said.
Zund also offers automation options, including robotic arms for material handling and finished-part removal. However, Sharma acknowledged that automation increases overall costs, which can be a challenge for first-time buyers especially in a price-sensitive market. “Automation is possible, but pricing becomes a factor, especially for customers investing in a brand-new system,” he said.
The company’s manufacturing facility is based in Switzerland, reinforcing its premium positioning. In India, Zund’s customer base includes established names such as Paxon Packaging, Metalic Impressions, and Any Graphics, particularly in the northern region.
Sharing expectations from the remaining days of Pamex, Sharma said Zund is focused on quality engagement. “We are looking for good footfall, but more importantly, a high conversion rate from hot leads rather than cold calls,” he said.
