Zonten highlights flexo, offset and embellishment presses

Manish Hansoti, managing director of S Kumar Multi Product, said the company is using the event to launch an eight-colour flexo press in India. “It is a new model with servo-driven registration and high accuracy, designed as an economical option. One press has already been installed at Vinson Labels in Navi Mumbai, and another is due at Anup Printers in Pune. We are also preparing to install a demo machine in October and will hold an open house to show the capabilities,” he explained.
Alongside the flexo, Zonten is demonstrating a machine dedicated to embellishment. The line integrates hot foil stamping, embossing, screen printing, die cutting and sheeting, with conveyors for inline processing. Hansoti said this enables converters to add value to work produced on offset, flexo or digital presses. Installations include Janus International in Noida and Kumar Labels in Gurugram.
Zonten’s offset line is also gaining traction, with 11 presses installed across India. Hansoti pointed to recent sales to Vikram Printers, Double Packaging in Ahmedabad and Ram Luthra Packaging, which is awaiting delivery of its second machine.
The company has built a base of more than 80 flexo presses in India since 2004, supported by a service team of 11 engineers. With restrictions on Chinese engineers working on-site, Indian staff are trained in China and provide installation and service support locally.
A recent highlight was the installation of a nine-colour press at Sprint Pack in Gurugram. The configuration includes CMYK with orange, violet, green and white to achieve extended gamut printing. Running at 150 metres a minute, the press is positioned to compete with gravure in high-volume flexible packaging.
Hansoti said Sprint Pack had considered a digital alternative but chose Zonten on the basis of plate costs and productivity. “This machine is a game-changer for them, giving high speed and quality with lower costs compared to gravure or digital,” he noted.
Hansoti confirmed that S Kumar Multi Product will continue to focus on promoting Zonten presses in India across flexo, offset and embellishment categories, with further installations expected in the coming months.
