The IPM managing director, Aditya Surana said that the second KBA at TCPL is a six-colour plus coater Rapida 106 conventional press with a high-speed package of 20,000sph, India’s first. The third machine is a seven-colour plus coater Rapida 106 combi UV press. Both the machines are expected to be installed in the first quarter of 2017.

Meanwhile, Wikas Publications, part of Pune-based Sakal Media Group which publishes the Marathi daily Sakal, has laid the foundation for its packaging venture with an investment in the Drupa-launched Rapida 75 Pro six-colour plus coater UV press. The machine will be commissioned in October 2016, said Surana.

In addition, IPM, without disclosing the names the companies for obvious reasons, informed that one printer in North, and one in South region of India have booked two more KBA presses.

“We are very satisfied with the show. These orders go to show that KBA leads the Indian packaging game. We expect to sign a couple of more deals when we return to India,” concluded Surana.
