Typography Day on 26-28 October
The 16th edition of Typography Day will be held on 26-28 October 2023. The event has been organised by the department of applied arts, faculty of visual arts, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (BHU Varanasi) in collaboration with the IDC School of Design (IDC), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), with support from India Design Association (InDeAs) and Aksharaya.

The event will also host an exhibition of selected posters from the Poster Design Competition
The theme for this year's event is Sacred and Typography.
The event will feature workshops on typography and calligraphy followed by a conference dedicated to sacred and typography.
The international conference will be devoted to addressing issues faced by type designers, type users and type educators. The conference includes presentations by invited keynote speakers, eminent academicians, industry professionals, research scholars and students.
The conference will focus on issues, such as experiments and explorations in typography; cross-cultural typography; typography design with multilingual scripts; typography design in native (indigenous) scripts; typography design within local contexts; research activities in typography; use of technologies in design of typefaces; and education in local language typography.
The event will also host an exhibition of selected posters from the Poster Design Competition.
