Toyo Ink hosts Apex Conclave in Delhi

Toyo Ink India, a member of Artience Group, organised the event, Apex Conclave: Charting New Paths towards Sustainability in New Delhi on 18 April.

At the event — which was attended by industry leaders and experts — the company shared its sustainability initiatives.

Toyo Ink India took this opportunity to announce that their parent company. Toyo Ink SC Holdings has changed its name to Artience as of 1 January 2024.

Naotoshi Nakamura, chairman and managing director of Toyo Ink India, said that Artience is a portmanteau for the words art and science. “Art is about feelings, senses, emotions. Science is about logical, rational thinking. If we can combine these two things, we may be able to create something new. That’s the ideas behind the new,” he said.

He added that for Toyo, customers always come first. Therefore, the company organised this event to show its appreciation for its customers. 

Toyo Ink India was incorporated in 2006. The company started by importing four colour process inks before starting offset ink production in its Noida plant in 2008. They started producing inkjet ink at the same plant in 2011, and gravure ink in 2012. In 2013, the company opened its second plant in Dahej, Gujarat and started producing offset inks in 2014. In 2016, the company started producing lamination adhesives and PU resins in Gujarat. At the same plant, plastic colourant production started in 2016. In 2021, the company started producing gravure ink and PSA in Gujarat. 

The company has a turnover of Rs 730 crore and 350 employees in India.

“In the last 17 years at Toyo Ink, we have witnessed phenomenal transformation and changes, and we have emerged strong, and in this, we remain committed to our Indian customers,” Nakamura said.
