Success cannot be achieved without knowledge

After my graduation, I did a diploma in commercial art. I joined Bharat Potteries group in 1992 as design artist. Within a couple of days, I became in charge of offset printing unit which was printing ceramic decals. I learnt screen printing on the job and later in 1995, I became in-charge of Screen Printing department of Clay Craft, where we had a couple of screen printing machines. I was elevated to assistant production manager in 1998.

After a brief hiatus from the company and the separation of Bharat Potteries and Clay Craft, I rejoined Bharat Pottery in 2010 and I got elevated to GM, operations.

Now I look after the printing unit at Bharat Potteries. My role involves getting designs done, making samples of decals, production planning, QC, trouble shooting, etc. We have seven graphic designers. Upon their induction, I personally train them in design making for ceramic decals since they are from general graphic designing background.

I could achieve my professional success only because of my husband’s support and my own dedication. I also owe to my team of designers and we work together with mutual respect. Success cannot be achieved without updating knowledge in your area of profession.

During leisure time I travel with my husband. To de-stress myself I do yoga and meditation, listen to music. It helps a lot to improve your creativity at work.

As an individual, I have my own identity and existence. I do not want to be dependent on others. Such self-respect makes you stronger inside, improves confidence.

During spare time, by associating with an NGO, I also get involved in project aimed at helping children suffering from blood cancer. This gives me self-satisfaction.
