Sivakasi’s Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College hosted Arasan Dharbar

On 17 February 2026, the department of printing technology at Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, Sivakasi, hosted its technical symposium, Arasan Dharbar 2026.

Arasan Dharbar, organised on 17 February, transpired in an industrial-academic partnership with Lucas TVS, Pondicherry. The collaboration underscored the link between theoretical learning and industrial application, as a total of 52 talented students from various departments of the institution gathered to showcase their technical prowess and visionary ideas.

Inaugural ceremony
The proceedings commenced with an inaugural ceremony, where A Paramasivam, head of the department of printing technology, delivered the welcome address. He extended a warm reception to the dignitaries, faculty, and the student community, highlighting the symposium’s role as a platform for nurturing the next generation of engineers. 

Following this, M Nandakumar, principal of Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, delivered the presidential address. He emphasised the importance of technical meets in fostering a spirit of inquiry and adaptation among students, particularly in an era of rapid technological transformation. 

Furthermore, the event was attended by representatives from Lucas TVS, Pondicherry. T Sampath Kumar, manager of the electricals department, and P Gopinath, manager of the safety department, offered their felicitations. They shared insights into the current trends in the manufacturing and electrical sectors, emphasising that safety and innovation are the twin pillars of modern industrial success. 

Prize distribution ceremony
Lucas TVS provided an INR 25,000 sponsorship to Arasan Dharbar 2026 as a reward for technical merit. The reward added a competitive edge to the symposium and served as a morale booster for the participants. 

Technical papers were presented by the 52 participants, which spanned from digital security to sustainable urban development and high-speed communication technologies.

The first prize, along with a cash reward of INR 10,000, was awarded to A Jeya Suriya, a third-year student of computer engineering. His presentation on Cyber Security Challenges in the Digital Era was lauded for its relevance in an age where data protection is paramount. 

The second prize of INR 8,000 was earned by the team of M Kathirvell and A Gunasekaran from the third-year electronics and communication engineering department. Their topic, 5G/6G Enabled AI-Driven Culinary Automation for the Global Food Industry, impressed the audience by bridging the gap between advanced communication protocols and the automation of the food service sector. 

The third prize, amounting to INR 7,000, was secured by TSR Aneesh, a first-year student of civil engineering. His presentation on Smart Cities and Sustainable Infrastructure highlighted the need for eco-friendly urban planning, demonstrating maturity and technical clarity for a first-year student. 

Following the prize distribution ceremony, M Pugazh, lecturer, printing technology, delivered the vote of thanks.

The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving behind shared knowledge and strengthened industry-institute ties that will inspire the students of Sivakasi for years to come.
