Roland announces swathe of new TrueVIS digital presses
Roland has announced six new machines in its TrueVis line of digital presses, including five new UV-LED printer-cutters and the manufacturer’s first water-based resin ink machine, the AP640.

The new range of machinery represents Roland’s fourth foray into the TrueVis brand
The AP640, a 1,200-dpi four-colour 1.6m-wide printer, will begin shipping in February in the UK.
The machine differentiates itself from other resin-based ink presses — such as HP’s Latex technology — with a unique drying system, according to Rob Goleniowski, head of sales for Roland DG UKI.
He said, “The drying system is quite unique, with an air curtain that reduces the energy consumption significantly, and gives excellent temperature control and uniformity across the full width.”
He added that the press’ long printhead lifespan would help ensure its reliability for operators, and that Roland has created more than 120 media profiles that it is offering for free to printers with its Versaworks RIP, with more on the way.
The new range of machinery represents Roland’s fourth foray into the TrueVis brand, after the third generation VG3-640/540 and the SG3-540/300 eco-solvent models were released in March 2022.
Roland’s launch also includes two new series of printer-cutters, the higher productivity LG series and multi-function MG series.
