Aggarwal: Our USP is local presence with local service team, demo centre, and spares and machines in local stock

2020 in review
We have to accept that the impact of Covid-19 on our business was not because of the low demand but because of the restricted reach to the customer due to limited travel freedom. Before the lockdown, we installed 10 machines in the first quarter of 2020, and from April till now, we have installed 15 machines in India.

Doing business during pandemic
I would say, every day is different, and we have seen too much change in the market demand. However, what motivates us is that despite the changes, the demand for packaging boxes remains. Our customers are investing to add capabilities and automation.

Plans for 2021
If the situation remains the same after the pandemic, we will have to be prepared for tough times. So, we have to be cautious with our investments. We have postponed our assembly plan for this year to the next year and our top priority is to do local manufacturing.

Most popular kit in 2020
The most popular kit from DGM is TechnoFold folder-gluer and Technocut die-cutter. Our USP is local presence with local service team, demo centre, and spares and machines in local stock.

Investment stories
I would name our customer, Paper Dreams, Bhiwadi, which offers solutions to the packaging world, from mono carton to three-ply and five-ply laminated and master cartons under one roof. I have always admired it for its calculated investment plan.
