The auditor’s report showcases how SBP has grown steadily, winning the trust and market share with marquee global customers who have a high threshold for quality and consistency. Innovation and sustainability have been the core pillars of SBP’s business model. No wonder the company calls itself the numero uno in polybags manufacturing in India for hygiene products. This translates into a range of 100% recyclable bags and pouches of PE. The key is: water based O2 barrier coating, which can help replace PET.

Founded in 1989, SBP is a manufacturer of flexible packaging materials in India, supplying to major players in the hygiene and food industry including P&G, J&J, Unicharm, Kimberly Clark, Nobel Hygiene, Walmart, Future Group, PepsiCo, Dabur, and Tata among other leading brands. During the peak of Covid, the group had invested USD 6-million on its new expansion project in Sampla (Rohtak district of Haryana).

Premji Invest picked up stake in SB Packagings for USD 25-mn in 2021. But what impressed us most has been the systems in place. This includes: 100% defect detection and removal through IoT and material tracking and Inventory control system through the SATO (Japanese system).
