PrintWeek Awards 2022: Macro Media Digital Imaging wins Digital Printer of the Year

Macro Media’s samples included three instances of backlit signs printed on fabric, and one instance of wall covering.

The backlit fabric graphics were printed on EFI Reggiani Next dye sublimation digital printer and the wall covering had been printed on a EFI Vutek 3250 LX Pro. Macro Media used EFI Fiery RIP using customised colour profiles built with Barbieri LFP (textile version). 

For the backlit fabric graphics, silicon gaskets were stitched on all the four edges to insert into an aluminium frame. Dye sublimation transfer was done using the transfer paper from Neenah, and the image transfer is done on a machine from Monti Antonio. 

The sample for Malabar Gold and Diamond had a run length of 3,325 sqft, and the sample for Samsung is 11,520-sqft. 

The run length for the wall covering for Skaid Designs was 2,320-sqft. It had digital UV print with eight colours plus ultra-drop 7-pl greyscale printing with multilayers on metallic fabric-based wall coverings from Dream Scape, USA, with specialised coatings with eye-catching sparkles.
