“All these were challenges we faced, as the projects for supply of packaging material for essential medicines was upon us,” said Niral Patel, director at Art-O-Print.

The company had to produce over a million cartons for the vital Remdesivir injection; lakhs of cartons of Cimune tablets; nCov vaccine; Virafin injection; and Viroshield mouth spray.

“We decided to move forward with our initiatives, each time for each of the projects,” says Patel.

The company established strong, cross-functional teams, developed a detailed plan that included tasks, start/finish dates, and pulled together materials needed for the project. “Early on we spent considerable time and effort creating processes for continued safe operations like setting up a tunnel gate for sanitisation, but more importantly, picking the right kind of sanitiser,” said Patel.

At the plant, every day presented new challenges, from within the plant operations and from clients demanding delivery. “In between we also had to arrange food for the employees, who came from different parts of our country,” explained Patel. “We, as a team, endured all kinds of frustrations, to successfuly continue our production and supply the most essential and badly required life-saving drug packaging material to save human lives,” concluded Patel.
