Both the machines were supplied to Pohoja by Insight Print Communications.

Anil Pohoja, owner, Pohoja Print Solutions, said, “Our existing facility had become outdated and this up-gradation became our necessity. I had finalised a press from a different manufacturer but when I saw the KHSI and HUV technology of Komori, I changed my decision."

Thermal technology and CIP4 compatibility were the main reasons why Pohoja preferred Kodak. "The thermal technology gives a better quality and CIP4 controls the ink flow according to the job. Thus we can reduce production time and cost without compromising on the quality," said Anil.

Pohoja Print Solutions is a 17-year old company and has two printing facilities in Delhi – 2,000 sq/ft in Shahdara and 7,000 sq/ft in Patparganj.

“My son, Himank, has joined the business and as is the case with the progressive thinking of second generation, he wants to run the facility in an organised and sophisticated way. So we decided to move in a bigger place with new equipment,” he further added.

The Shahdara facility has a four-colour and a single-colour printing machine with an in-house PS plate-making facility, which produces around 40 plates per day whereas the Patparganj facility has a four-colour Akiyama Bestek and the newly bought four-colour Lithrone with an 8-up Kodak CTP system, which produces around 100 plates a day.

To become a complete printing facility, the post production facility, which will include perfect binder, folding, cutting, stitching and other machines, is on the way to be in-house.

Himank Pohoja of Pohoja Print Solutions, said, “There is a cut-throat competition in the market and you have to be technologically advanced to stay at par. Clients are ready to pay a premium for quality. Also, brand-new machines bring in automation as compared to used machines. We are ready to move into the next league of Indian commercial printers.”

Anil who has been a theatre artist and state swimmer seemed excited about Himank taking charge of the business. Quip him about the transition into printing and Anil replies with a laugh, "It has become my habit to face new challenges and then overcome them."
