Manaser-based DJS Printers has ordered the NovaFold 110 A2 with four- and six-corner and corrugation kit for its new plant in Gujarat, and Indore-based Aaradhya Papers (part of Sri Kriscon Industries) has ordered the ExpertFold 110 A2. Baddi-based Mahalaxmi Packaging has opted for a NovaFold 110 A2.

DJS Printers specialises in food service packaging. With the NovaFold 110 A2, the company plans to do specialist packaging. The NovaFold is capable of producing a wide range of box styles at speeds of up to 350-m/min and yet delivers top-notch quality with consistency.

Navdeep Singh from DJS Printers said, “Bobst was our first choice in converting. We are a power-user of Bobst, the reason being its productivity and versatility the machine offers and, most importantly, the process knowledge we are able to derive from the Bobst team in India.”

Aaradhya Papers (part of Sri Kriscon Industries) operates as a monopolistic player, supplying internal coated packaging to ice cream and butter boxes to clients in Madhya Pradesh and packaging to clients beyond the state. The new ExpertFold 110 A2 folder-gluer is a new generation machine capable of producing different box styles at speeds of up to 450-m/min.

Chetanya Soni, director at Aradhya, said, “After our first Bobst purchase, which was Ambition A2 in 2020, we added a machine from a Far East packaging converting machine manufacturer. But we were disappointed. After using both kits, we realised the importance of versatility, perfection, and consistency. That pushed us again to look at Bobst, and we finalised the ExpertFold, which offers faster makeready and flexibility. Another factor was the Bobst local support which helped us grow when we first purchased it in 2020. The idea now is to grow and double our production in the next coming years.”

Established in 2016, Mahalaxmi Packaging has diversified into the mono cartons business and installed a six-colour coater 28x40-inches printing press to cater for the mono carton business.

Raman Agarwal, managing partner, Mahalaxmi Packaging, said, “We found that converting is the most important part of mono cartons production and the segment requires quality equipment. Bobst is a renowned name in the industry because of its quality and consistency. The market gave us this feedback."

The machine is equipped with four- and six-corner attachments and a specialcorrugation kit with extended delivery.

“As packaging is a new segment for us, we want to offer fast and on-time service to our customers and that kind of service requires excellent equipment,” Agarwal said, adding, “Another reason to invest in Bobst was because of its best-in-class after-sales service and process knowledge."

The 133-year-old Swiss-based Bobst, with over 28 years of presence in India, showcased the NovaFold brand of folder-gluer at Pamex. Launched in 2022, the NovaFold has a brand-new design and look, a new HMI man-machine interface and a competent speed of up to 350m/min. “It offers full flexibility to process all types of simple and complex cartons – solid board and litho-laminated corrugated,” said Venugopal Menon of Bobst.

“At the show, Bobst had a live demonstration of the machine, showing how specialised and complex designed boxes can be produced using the machine’s functionalities and capabilities,” he added.
