The Offset Printers’ Association has named Nirmal Goyal of Popular Printers, Jaipur, as the recipient of the Print Shree Award 2025. The decision was taken unanimously by the OPA Awards Committee to recognise Goyal’s contribution to technology adoption, quality standards and industry development in Rajasthan and North India.

Announcing the selection, Prof Kamal Chopra, a key member of the OPA committee, said Goyal’s journey reflects “a rare blend of entrepreneurship and institution building”. He added, “The committee viewed Goyal as a printer who invests ahead of the curve and then helps the wider community benefit from that progress.”

Popular Printers, founded in 1967, had operated Komori sheetfed offset presses, computer to plate systems and integrated workflows. The company had served customers in India and the United States. Under his guidance, Popular Printers moved towards global benchmarks in print production. Prof Chopra said, “His focus on process control and consistency helped position a Jaipur based firm in international markets.”

Goyal had also been active in industry bodies. As a former secretary of the Rajasthan Offset Printers Association, he had led projects including a professional directory that generated around Rs 40-lakh in advertising revenue for the association. Prof Chopra said, “This initiative demonstrated organisational ability beyond his own factory.” He added, “It created a shared resource for printers and strengthened the association’s financial base.”

OPA credited Goyal with supporting skill development, ethical business practices and employment generation in the regional print sector. Prof Chopra said, “He consistently encouraged training and knowledge sharing.” He added, “Many smaller printers in the region benefited from his guidance, whether in quality systems or business discipline.”

Goyal had earlier been recognised at the Indian Bizz Achiever’s Awards 2022 to 23 with an award for printing solutions. Prof Chopra said, “Such recognition reflected sustained performance rather than a one-off success.” He added, “It signalled long term commitment to the craft of printing.”

The Print Shree Award 2025 is scheduled to be presented on 21 February 2026 during the Printers Maha Panchayat, held alongside PrintPack Rajasthan in Jaipur.

Parveen Aggarwal, president of OPA, said, “Printing remained important for knowledge dissemination and industrial growth in India. Goyal’s work reflected the industry’s focus on modernisation and community building. This award acknowledged efforts that strengthened both business and the printing fraternity.”

Prof Chopra added, “Recognising printers like Nirmal Goyal underlined that quality, ethics and collaboration mattered.” He said, “His example showed that regional printers could achieve scale, reputation and community respect at the same time.”
