Rajendra Mehta, managing director, Multiflex Polybags, said the installation is part of the company’s effort to streamline pressroom maintenance while adopting more sustainable flexo practices.

According to Mehta, the decision was driven by challenges around the availability of the right solvents and their disposal process. “With the Sitexco Laser Plus, we wanted to move away from solvent dependency while ensuring consistent cleaning,” he said.

The installation of the Sitexco Laser Plus SLP1.5 at Multiflex Polybags marks a bold step toward smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable flexo practices,” said team Popli Graphics. “We’re thrilled to partner with innovators like Multiflex, who not only value performance but are also redefining what responsible printing looks like in today’s world. This is more than a machine — it’s a mindset shift.”

The system was installed and commissioned without any issues. “It was absolutely smooth, no hiccups,” Mehta noted, adding that operators required only a short training session. “The rest was easy to adapt.” In terms of productivity, Multiflex reports that the Sitexco Laser Plus is delivering better performance compared to its previous system. “Much better and very consistent,” said Mehta. The company has also observed visible improvements in print quality, including finer detail and sharper impressions.

However, Mehta clarified that the investment is not expected to impact production capacity. “This is just a cleaning process. It will not affect competitiveness or capacity in any way,” he said. While downtime and wastage reductions have not been significant, the company noted a slight increase in electricity bills.

On working with Popli Graphics, Mehta said it is still early to comment on long-term service and support. “As of now, it’s a fresh and new installation. Only time will tell,” he remarked.

Founded in Chennai, Multiflex Polybags manufactures PET laminates, surface-printed LLDPE, and LDPE packaging bags for the hygiene, garments, food, e-commerce, and retail sectors.
