Monotech Systems showcased its evolution into a production powerhouse with a focus on digital embellishment and high-speed inkjet technology. Harshit Shukla, marketing manager at the company, explained that their focus is on transitioning the industry to digital platforms through a combination of proprietary R&D and global technology collaborations.

The company’s in-house brand, PixelGlow, took centre stage with two key machines: the Vertex and the Lumina. The Vertex, an AI-driven system, is designed for high-end UV and foiling effects, while the Lumina offers similar embellishment capabilities in a more compact format. Shukla noted that these machines are helping printers move beyond CMYK to create tactile, premium finishes for sectors like interior decor, photo albums, and high-end packaging.

A major highlight of the showcase was the KnowzzleJet MM 880 from Monotech’s Jetsci global brand, an ultra-high-speed monochrome inkjet web press. Although the physical machine’s footprint was too large for the booth, Shukla detailed its position as the world’s widest inkjet web press to feature integrated online folding and glueing. Built with Memjet technology and managed via the Zetron RIP, the press is a Made in India production capable of 44-million impressions per month, specifically targeting the growth in short-run book publishing and variable data printing.

Shukla reported a positive outlook for 2026, citing the rising demand for short-run printing, particularly in book and label production, and the mainstreaming of embellishment for premium labels as primary growth drivers.

Addressing the industry’s shift toward automation, Shukla emphasised that features like the KnowzzleJet’s inline folding and glueing are direct responses to the need for reduced manpower and faster turnaround times. He noted that these innovations are speeding up the production cycle.
