The maiden issue of the title will be launched in December this year. Parents India magazine is the first license magazine from G+J‘s Portfolio (Eltern Magazine). “Eltern in German means parent - an apt name for a magazine targeted at expecting and new parents,” saidPrakash Johari, CEO and managing director at the publishing house.

While the group awaits the necessary clearances from Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and Registrar of Newspaper of India, the website, Parentsindia.com, is gaining popularity among the new and expecting parents. The online portal, launched on 15 August, 2012 is buzzing busy with help guides and information encircling various aspects of parenthood and a community section that allows parents to interact with other parents and share everyday experiences and opinions.

Shilpi Shukla, the editor of Parents India considers moms who are grooming and redefining themselves every day as their target audience. “We are there with the Indian moms for the entire span of nine months and even beyond. Each issue will have age-specific child development guidance, valuable advice on a child's emotional and social development, health and safety information, and ways to stimulate his learning. With a view to enhance family time, the issue will also explore learning activities, vacation planning, travel tips, and reviews of children's books, videos, and music, and their favourite food joints.”

The monthly magazine will be priced at Rs 100 and will have a print run of 36,000 for each issue. The magazine will be made available across newsstands, airports, hospitals and doctors’ clinic along with the online edition, which can be procured through Zinio and Magster. In addition to the 12 issues, special issues on topics like 200 Q&As on Pregnancy, New Born Babies, Shopping for my Baby, 200 Q&As on Baby’s First Year, Pregnancy & My Baby, etc. will be published.

Johari gives credit to his children for the launch of the title. “Being the father of two kids, I understand that raising a kid is both, a fun and challenging experience. This motivated me to conceptualise Parents India. The magazine is a must-read for parents who live in nuclear setups and desire to play an active role in their child’s development and learning and for making more informed choices in raising their kids.”

“Maxposure Media has planned a 360-degree approach for creating brand awareness of Parents India. In this pursuit, the website and various events, to be conducted pan-India, will play a pivotal role,” said Vikas Johari, publisher & COO, Maxposure Media Group.

Parents India’s advisory board comprises internationally-acclaimed medical experts like gynaecologist Dr. Kamini Rao, who is credited with the birth of India's first SIFT baby and South India's first ICSI and Assisted Hatching baby and Padmashree Dr. Sheila Mehra, senior consultant, Gynaecology, Moolchand Women Hospital, New Delhi.
