Labelexpo Preview: Inspection and Curing systems

The future of inspection and curing systems.

23 Sep 2019 | By PrintWeek India

Guardian PQV

Baldwin Vision Systems | Hall 6, Stall E52

Guardian PQV 100% print inspection system paired with Guardian RTM (real-time monitoring), enables press operators to monitor changes as they happen. Other systems at the show include the Autotron 3600 register control module; ColorTrack; and the DeltaCam.

TubeScan

BST eltromat | Hall 5, Stall D23, E05

TubeScan gets an all-new 4K camera for higher resolution and clarity for detecting defects as small as 0.08 mm. Add the workflow system QLink, PDF validation, single master repeat and surface inspection for all kind of substrates, the TubeScan becomes a perfect blend of accuracy and efficiency

 ProofRunner 1200 DT

EyeC | Hall 4, Stall C61

EyeC will introduce the new EyeC ProofRunner 1200 DT scan size up to 1,270x915 mm. The system checks samples such as wide-web proofs. It will also perform live demos of the EyeC ProofRunner Web for inspecting narrow webs and the EyeC Quality Link which removes faulty material from the press.

LeoLED

GEW | Hall 6, Stall C18

The new LeoLED UV curing system comes with a 50mm width window. It is waterproof-sealed for easy cleaning, is resilient to dust and ink ingress and delivers electrical power at 88W/cm and an intensity of 25W/cm2. The LeoLED cassette is fully compatible with GEW’s ArcLED hybrid system.

NarrowStar

ISRA Vision | Hall 8, Stall B39

NarrowStar fits into any printing or converting machine for web widths of 330, 440 or 660 mm. All components are integrated into one housing, including its in-house built camera. NarrowStar combines with the Plug&Inspect family, which can be operated via conventional LAN or wireless.

LEDCure SCR and Excimer lamp

IST Metz | Hall 5, Stall D21

The new system for retrofitting on label printing presses is available in lengths from 270 to 540 mm and can be adapted to all requirements of offset and flexo printing machines. The new LEDCure SCR features the XT8-Booster which, IST Metz claims, has up to 30% more power than other LED systems.

UV lamps

Jelight Company | Hall 3, Stall C76

Jelight will showcase a range of medium pressure UV lamps used in the printing and packaging segments. Jelight produces bulbs from 1-200 inches in length and 25-1500 watts per inch, with a variety of end caps. Lamp envelopes are available in ozone-producing or ozone-free quartz.

LabelRoll-F and PrintingProof

Luster LightTech Group | Hall 9, Stall C30

LabelRoll-F is an inspection system which incorporates new software, hardware, optical system, and integrates artificial intelligence with machine vision for 100% inspection for all defects and substrates including variable data verification and inspection. The 8K resolution inspection camera used in LabelRoll-F is the highest in the industry, says the company. Also on the stand will be the PrintingProof software, which can effectively control pre-press process and be assured the digital and sample files are 100% correct. It is capable of detecting graphics errors, print errors, spelling errors, braille check and translation, text errors, and barcode verification.

Smijet

Odesyo | Hall 8, Stall B02

The company will unveil Smijet inline colour controller, which it claims can save printing waste to the tune of USD 6-bn. Fitted with an AI and a patented wide-spectrum sensor, Smijet checks for 100% printed surface tracking for inconsistencies in colour and print faults, whatever the substrates.

FireJet FJ645

Phoseon | Hall 7, Stall A29

FireJet FJ645 is an air-cooled UV LED curing lamp for flexo applications and is fitted with the new TargetSure technology for monitoring UV irradiance in real-time. It is available in lamp lengths up to 525mm. The system has a wider emitting window to provide longer UV exposure time.

VE1A-M (C8)

Vetaphone | Hall 7, Stall E28

For those looking for narrow web surface treatment, the company will be showing two Corona stations – the VE1A-A (C4) and the newly launched VE1A-M (C8), which is fitted with eight ceramic electrodes. The new C8, which is capable of operating at running speeds in excess of 300m/min.
